Art Inspired by Conservation

Conservation is at the heart of my work.

Several years ago, I participated in an online workshop to learn more about the remarkable Gang-gang Cockatoo (Callocephalon fimbriatum), a species whose decline has been observed for many years and which is now listed as threatened.

The experience inspired me to create a series of artworks celebrating this unique Australian bird. I am delighted to share that all original pieces from the collection have found homes with collectors. Prints and greeting cards are available.  New artworks and updates will be featured in my monthly newsletter.

The Gang-gang Cockatoo has become much more than an artistic subject for me—it is a reminder of the important role we all play in protecting Australia's wildlife.

How You Can Help

If you live within the Gang-gang's range, there are simple yet meaningful ways to support these birds:

• Provide a reliable source of clean water for birds year-round.

• Protect mature trees and known nesting hollows.

• Plant native species that provide food and habitat.

• Learn about the Gang-gang's preferred food sources and incorporate them into your garden.

Every observation helps researchers better understand and protect this species. If you spot a Gang-gang Cockatoo, consider reporting your sighting through BirdLife Australia's Birdata program. By downloading the app and submitting your observations, you contribute valuable information that supports ongoing conservation efforts.

There is still much to learn about these extraordinary birds, and every record makes a difference.
