I’m Kath Unsworth, and I find tranquility in the simple gifts that nature offers. I’ve always been an observer and a dreamer—someone who cherishes those fleeting moments in the garden or while walking along the beautiful South Coast. For me, these moments are about being still, grounded, and connecting with nature without disrupting its peaceful rhythm.
As a child, I wished I could speak to the animals, and though that dream has yet to come true, my art serves as my way of communicating with them. Through my work, I invite you to see the mystery and magic of nature, capturing those tiny, overlooked moments that remind us of its wonder.
Having moved to the far South Coast of Australia, I've fallen in love with the birdlife, bush walks, and the stunning landscapes of the Sapphire Coast.
Residing in the quiet village of Quaama with my husband and family, we, like many others, were deeply affected by the devastating black summer bushfires. While we've made a remarkable recovery with incredible support from loved ones and strangers alike, my concern remains focused on the wildlife and habitats that sustain Australia's unique birds and wildlife.
Through my sketches of birds I aim to inspire a greater appreciation for nature. Each year, I refine my skills, using pen and ink for detailed sketches and colored pencils to capture the vibrant hues that Australian birds are known for. I am also exploring techniques to highlight the intricate beauty of our native Australian plants and insects.
