Garden Symphony

This piece was inspired by the resident magpie who has adopted our garden with his beautiful partner. And all the creatures that make up our garden symphony. A place to sit, watch and listen to nature. Im hoping to document our garden with a body of work to have a show in 2026.

Garden Symphony was selected as a finalist for The Basil Sellers Art Prize 2024. I felt grateful to be among so many talented artists. This piece has opened my mind to new possibilities combining my pen work and layering of leaves and insects in detailed collages.

Magpies are a favourite of mine, so they will always inspire me to draw. This little one is a juvenile from my resident magpies. We're fortunate to witness new hatchlings each year, and I can't resist capturing them in my artwork. Available in print only.

A really fun piece about the usual suspects trying to find their place in our garden.

Im enjoying the play with cutting art into layers and adding metalic paint into my pieces. Pushing the work and making it unique. Im hoping to refine my paper cutting skills. Bird Bouquet series

As my passion for illustrating intricate details grows, I've become increasingly interested in the plants we cultivate and the birds that grace our garden. The Bird Bouquet series emerged from my joyous expression of the beauty birds and flowers bring to my own garden. Thanks to the efforts of an amazing gardener, my husband Pete, our garden bursts with vibrant colors as he experiments with various plants to attract birds and insects to our little sanctuary. We've also installed several bird baths of different sizes and created frog ponds to enhance biodiversity.
